Alexander Millar painting live event huge success!!




On Saturday 2nd April Castle Galleries Newcastle was delighted to host a painting live event with the man of the hour Alexander Millar. Dozens of people flooded through the doors of the gallery for this unique event and to see in person just how he creates his fantastic 'gadgie' characters.

If you missed out on this event, fear not as you have the opportunity to see Alex do what he does best at the Great North Museum: Hancock on the 4th May at 7pm. To book your place at this event please call 0191 2225121, this is a free event but spaces are very limited.

Don't forget the 'Working Man' exhibition will be running until the 8th of May so hurry up and get there before it's too late!

Alexander Millar Live Painting - Saturday 2nd April

Here at Castle Galleries Newcastle, we are delighted to announce that on Saturday April 2nd, Alexander Millar will be here in the gallery creating a brand new original painting.
In conjunction with his brand new exhibition of work entitled 'Working Man' which is currently on display at the Great North Museum: Hancock, Alex will be here at Castle Galleries Newcastle between 1 and 3pm. You will be able to come and meet him, and see first hand how he creates his work.

Alexander Millar - The 'Working Man' collection



 Castle Galleries Newcastle are honoured to present ‘Working Man’, the signed limited edition collection of art taken from the prestigious Alexander Millar museum exhibition opening at the Great North Museum: Hancock in just three weeks time.

Craig Davison Launches at Castle Galleries

Castle Galleries Newcastle are delighted to introduce a fantastic new edition to our artistic family. Craig Davison perfectly captures the essence of youth with his collection, he expertly crafts a charming narrative and depicts what it means to be a child swept away on a wave of imagination. This body of work is inspired by childhood adventures of caped crusaders, dynamic duos and heores on horseback, when saving the day or even the world, could all be done before tea-time.



Craig uses shadows in the background of his pieces to portray the hero of the fantasy world created by the child in question, from Batman to Charlie's Angels and the Magnificent Seven; there is something for everyone in this unique collection.

This year in 2010, to mark what would have been Elvis' 75th Birthday year, we have created a special portfolio set of four limited edition giclee prints by celebrated pop artist Peter Mars - each limited to just 75 editions worldwide! All titled with phrases taken from his iconic song 'A Little Less Conversation' these pieces are a 'must have' for any Elvis fan or art collector.



Through a unique collaboration with Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE), Peter Mars, one of America's leading pop artists, has gained exclusive access to both iconic photographs loved by the public, as well as a selection of private photographs from deep in their archives. Using this privileged access he has created four powerful and timeless pieces immortalising the 'King' in print forever; whilst adding his own unique pop art touch.



 
Each portfolio set of four prints includes a FREE fabulous piece of original artwork by Peter Mars entitled 'A Little More Action' - each one individually created and each one unique in its own right.
