Here at Castle Galleries Newcastle we are deeply honoured to be able to reveal to you exclusively, the brand new ‘Drawn Blank Series 2011’ release. There are 8 brand new pieces available to purchase, all of which are standard size with the paper measuring 27.5” by 22”, the same as previous releases of work and each piece comes with a certificate of authenticity to verify the piece.

Each piece is a limited edition of 295 and has been personally hand signed by Bob Dylan himself.

The date has finally been set, for the long awaited release of Bob Dylan's 'Drawn Blank' series 2011, which we are sure, as ever, will be hugely popular. Bob Dylan Drawn Blank Series 2011

Castle Galleries Newcastle are delighted to announce that there will be a brand new release of work from the Bob Dylan 'Drawn Blank Series' this month.

Whilst travelling on tour between 1989 and 1992, Bob Dylan created a collection of drawings that were published in a book entitled 'Drawn Blank' in 1994. These expressive works capture Dylan's chance encounters and observations. The creation of these portraits, interiors, landscapes, still lifes, nudes and street scenes were done to "relax and refocus a restless mind".


Each edition is published in a limited number of no more than 295 copies worldwide. All are printed on Hahnemühle Museum Etching or Innova Soft Texture paper, certificated and personally signed by the artist.
 
For those of you who are farmiliar with Bob's work you will know that this is not an opportunity to be missed. Previous releases have seen certain images sell out in minutes so if you have any interest in any of these images please do not hesitate to contact us here at the gallery.

Stephen starts a piece by buildig up the pieces in a number of layers of relief texture and oil paint glazes, moving the paint around using a combination of palette knife, brush and old rags to create earthy effects. By using heavy texture his work has an almost sculptural quality with a tactile surface.

BOB DYLAN - 70TH BIRTHDAY

 Castle Galleries are excited to be offering a special promotion on all Bob Dylan's works, this week only, to celebrate Bob Dylan turning 70 on the 24th of May.

Bob Dylan is one of the most influential figures in the music world of the last five decades. Over the last forty-eight years he has released forty-six albums and written over five hundred songs including 'Blowin' in the Wind', 'The Times They Are A-Changin', and 'Make You Feel My Love'. Selling over 110 million records around the world, his songs have been covered more than three thousand times by artists as diverse as Sonny and Cher, The Byrds, the Rolling Stones, Duke Ellington, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Jarrett, Guns N' Roses, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Marley, Pearl Jam and Neil Young.

In 2008 a collection of Bob Dylan's drawings and sketches, made while on a tour of America, Europe and Asia between 1989 and 1992, were exhibited and the collection became aptly named 'The Drawn Blank Series'.

Alexander Millar painting live event huge success!!

On Saturday 2nd April Castle Galleries Newcastle was delighted to host a painting live event with the man of the hour Alexander Millar. Dozens of people flooded through the doors of the gallery for this unique event and to see in person just how he creates his fantastic 'gadgie' characters.
