John Wilson - Artist Appearance!

Here at Castle Fine Art Newcastle we are delighted to announce that on the 15th June, the master of optical illusion, John Wilson, will be joining us here at the gallery!

John will be here between 1 and 4pm when he will explain his incredibly complex technique called 'reverse perspective' and present his brand new collection of signed limited edition and original art.

John brings his quirky characters and miniature galleries to life in a collection which reveals the power of perspective and demonstrates that things are not always as they seem!

We are also holding a fantastic free prize draw where one lucky entrant will be picked at random to win a signed limited edition sculpture entitled 'Friends Forever'. Elephant Parade London 2010

The UK’s biggest ever outdoor art exhibition – The Elephant Parade - is currently in full swing in and around London with 258 brightly coloured life sized baby elephants adorning the streets of our capital city in aid of raising money to save the Asian Elephant from extinction in the wild.

Six of these wonderful elephants have been painted by our very own talented artists – Peter Smith, Louise Dear, Paul Kenton, John D Wilson, Alexander Millar & Jeff Rowland.

These elephants will be in 2 different locations from now until 3rd July 2010 for the public to see and enjoy so if you’re in London over the coming weeks why not go and say hello. You can also bid for any of these elephants and make them a permanent feature in your garden or house whilst helping a worthwhile cause.

Spring into Summer

Washington Green and Castle Galleries are delighted to present to you our ‘Spring into Summer’ range which features eight brand new pieces from four of our most well know artists.

Nick Potter presents us with two exhilarating boxed canvasses this season, taking his inspiration from the sea and his love of lighthouses; whilst Paul Corfield takes us into his wonderful imaginary world away from the stresses of everyday life. John Wilson, on the other hand, amuses us with his whimsical images, leading the viewer to create their own narrative behind his pieces.

In complete contrast, Hamish Blakely has painted two stunning figurative pieces. The mood and tone of these pieces have been perfectly complimented by the use of a darker presentation, adding an air of mystery and intrigue to the picture.
